The Tower of London - Saturday 9th June

This is the Docklands Light Rail or DLR - it is the part of the underground tube system that comes out past our place. Josh catches it everyday into work. It's like a monorail kind of thing.
We needed refreshments half way around - ice cream and lollie. We were there for 3 hours, there is a lot to see and take in at the Tower! View of London Bridge from the Tower of London wall A Raven - The Tower has always held the myth that if the Ravens leave the tower it will crumble so they still keep Ravens in the grounds today.
Standing on the wall that joins the towers together
The Tower of London is a big complex with all different towers and buildings. The Houses you see in this picutre were orginally built for one of Henry VIII wives, then he had her killed - Anne Berlin - i think so he gave it to the next wife! Anyway they now house the Beefeaters and there families who live on site. They say it's quite hard to order pizza delivery - they tend to get the company hang up on them when they give the Tower of London as delivery address!
The Beefeater - they are old sergents from the armed forces and have to have served for at least 20 years and have made sergent before they can do this job!
Inside this building are the crown jewels - very fancy - we couldn't take photos inside
After looking around the tower we had our first meal of fish and chips in England - not all that it's cracked up be!
