For Easter weekend, Janaki, Mayank, Josh and I went to Cornwall. We stayed in a really nice B&B in St Austall. The train took quite some time so on Friday we took a little visit to Mevagissey and Charlsetow. On Saturday we went for the mammoth tour and drove all around the bottom of the island. We went to St Ives, Mousehole, Newlyn, Porthcurno, Lands End (England's most westerly point) and back up - very exhausting. In the evening we went to the local pub for dinner and what an experience! All the locals came out for a bit of Karaoke, two of them had a fight, one of them came back in to sing 'Grease Lightening'! Before somebody informed him that his mother was here to pick him up! Then all the pub lights went on - party over - very funny!!! On Sunday we drove down to St Michael Mount. We even had a Sunday Service in the Priory Church which was rebuilt in the late 14th century. It's really old and was originally an important centre for the Cornish tin trade during the iron age! In 1066 Benedictine monks built an abbey here then in 1659 it was purchased by Colonel John St Aubyn who turned into a fortress. They had cream tea's once we where back on mainland. Then we drove to Lizard point (England's most southerly point) where we had Cornish ice cream and sat in the sun. Whilst we did all the sightseeing Mayank brought his document with him! That evening we went for dinner at 15 in Newquay - the Jamie Oliver restaurant that has training chief's. Monday we spent the day travelling home on the train - it's a long way away!

The sun is starting to come out!
Eating the Sausage Roll!
Me on my Boris Bike at the end of the cycle!
Summer looks as if it might arrive this year and we have started to have some sunshine and even 18 degrees!! This weekend we met Steve at the pub on Friday, then Saturday Josh and I hired Boris Bikes and rode to canary wharf - only to discover there was no docking station so we had to ride all the way back to Aldgate! By this stage we where tired and fed up so caught a taxi back out to the wharf, we we joined about 20 Safa's as they cooked Potjies. These are big caldron type things that do over coal (bbq) and you put meet/vege/potato in and it ends up like a stew. There where 3 Potjies - chicken, lamb, beef - all very nice! We stayed out at the wharf and caught the last tube home. It was still nice and sunny on Sunday so we went down to Southwark Park with Simon and they guys got a sausage roll for lunch - which was actually a sausage in a hamburger bun! so funny! we sat in the sun and played a little cricket - quite nice and headed home about 4pm. I have now joined the gym again so I start again on Monday!
