London: Sunday 19th July
We had a little lay in the sun after breakfast before heading out to the airport for mid-day and travelling back to London to do washing and get ready for work!
Santorini, Greece: Saturday 18th July

The Volcano
The Boat
The Donkey ride down to the park
We had a bit of a sleep in then took our scooter for its last drive into Fira where we watched the AB’s beat OZ. We dropped the scooter back just after mid-day before catching a bus back into Fira, where we had lunch and caught a boat cruise for the evening. The boat left from the old port which was quite a long hot walk down so for 5 euro each we caught a donkey! The man ‘sheparded’ the donkeys down the cliff by talking to them! I tried to take photos as we where going down but the camera was bumping around too much! What an experience! We caught the boat first to the Volcano where we took a very hot walk up and back down the craters. Santorini is the largest crater in the world – the top is still hot! We then went around the other side and jumped off the boat for a swim – the water was also warm here and all rusty! Really strange! We had wine and snacks on the boat before being serenaded by a saxophone as we watched the sunset with the sails up. We got back into Fira about 9pm and caught the Gondola up the hill (no more donkeys)! Lots of people where in Fira so we sat and had a d drink, before catching the bus back, having thoroughly enjoyed our time in Santorini.
Santorini, Greece: Friday 17th July
Sunset from the restaurant in Oia - dinner was good hear and so pretty!
Amoudou
Pictures in Thira
We headed back today to Oia where we had a wander around – it was the hottest day so far today. For lunch we went to Amoudou and walked around the cliffs (it’s an old sea port). We drove back around the beach side of the island. WE stopped at the town of Finika and went down to the winery to do some tasting. Although we weren’t that fond of the wine we did learn that the vines are weaved around into a basket and the grapes grow on the inside. Also, due to the humidity the vines self-irrigate! At about 5pm we arrived back and sat in the sun by the pool before catching the bus back to Oia to enjoy dinner and the sunset.

Some scenary from the scooter excersion
We headed out down the island on our scooter today and stopped along the way at ‘Red Beach’ and had a swim. We drove back up the island to Perissa and the beaches around there where we had lunch and took a ride around. Then we headed back to Fira (main town) where we got off the bike and had a look around. By this time it was about 5pm so we headed back for a swim and a nap. We had dinner in a nice restaurant overlooking the water in Imerovigli.
Santorini, Greece: Wednesday 15th July

Pictures of Santorini - we took so many these are just a few!
Our Scooter! - The hotel we stayed at is in the background
We caught a ferry (fast catamaran actually) from Mykenos to Santorini it took just under 2.5 hours. When we arrived we organised ourselves a scooter to sightsee with over the next few days and went into Imerovigli (the area where we are staying) and had some lunch then drove to Oia (my favourite part of Santorini – so beautiful). We watched the sunset from the hotel with some champagne by the pool – a sunset that is unmatched anywhere else!
