Santorini, Greece: Saturday 18th July

Sunset on the boat Josh enjoying a beer after the swim Josh still in the water - check out the rust - the orange bit in the water at the back The Volcano The Boat The Donkey ride down to the park
We had a bit of a sleep in then took our scooter for its last drive into Fira where we watched the AB’s beat OZ. We dropped the scooter back just after mid-day before catching a bus back into Fira, where we had lunch and caught a boat cruise for the evening. The boat left from the old port which was quite a long hot walk down so for 5 euro each we caught a donkey! The man ‘sheparded’ the donkeys down the cliff by talking to them! I tried to take photos as we where going down but the camera was bumping around too much! What an experience! We caught the boat first to the Volcano where we took a very hot walk up and back down the craters. Santorini is the largest crater in the world – the top is still hot! We then went around the other side and jumped off the boat for a swim – the water was also warm here and all rusty! Really strange! We had wine and snacks on the boat before being serenaded by a saxophone as we watched the sunset with the sails up. We got back into Fira about 9pm and caught the Gondola up the hill (no more donkeys)! Lots of people where in Fira so we sat and had a d drink, before catching the bus back, having thoroughly enjoyed our time in Santorini.
