We stayed our final week as the migrating homeless in London Bridge and totally loved it! It's a beutiful area, they filmed Bridget Jones' Diary and Harry Potter in the area. Then on Friday we finally moved into our new place. It is nice to have a home and to unpack. At presant we don't have a phone or internet connection so please excuse us if contact is a bit limited at the moment. On Friday night we took ourselves off to bed looking foward to a lovely sleep in our own bed with our new duvet and pillows - how nice! We went to bed about 11pm and lay there and lay there and lay there - listening to busses and cars and trucks drive past the window oh and hear the fire engine sirens go as not only do we happen to live on a main road, that the traffic never stops on but we live opposite a fire station!! The estate agent claimed we had double glazing - we do but the seals around the windows are gone so all the noise just comes on through!!!! So about 2.30pm when josh and i had both realized neither of us could sleep we listened to music till about 4.30pm by which stage both of us felt like slaughtering the estate agent we went into the lounge and tried to sleep on the couch - to no avail we could not both fit - but on the upside there was no traffic noise. At about 5am i had the ingenious plan of bringing the mattress from the bed into the lounge and we had the best 4 hours sleep you could imagine! Louise got up in the morning and got the fright of her life to see us sleeping in lounge! Hadn't she been bothered by the noise you ask - no louise owned a pair of ear plugs and put them in about 30min after going to bed when she realized she couldn't sleep!! Josh and I now both go to bed not only with ear plugs in but eye masks on to drown the light out that comes streaming in the bedroom window - a picture of beauty the both of us!!! On Saturday night we went out with some friends that Josh had not seen since school in South Africa - see the pictures! It was good to meet them - nice people and josh was quite excited to catch up with them. On Sunday we made it our big mission to go to this big store - like Briscoes and get stuff for the house well it was a big mission it took about an hour to get there, not to mention we had to wait for the shuttle bus in the pouring rain and then we ended up with nothing we couldn't have got from the supermarket next to home!! And it took all of Sunday! We don't have a TV yet so while josh worked on sunday night louise and i played last card!!! Oh how sad - but at least it's all worth a good laugh - we will be ordering a tv online tonight - we have a gym in the apartment we could have gone to but after all that trapsing around london in the rain we were too miserable. Despite our stories still having a good time and i am so much closer to having a job either temporary or permanent, anytime now i will be able to enter a blog about my first job! Yeah! Josh is enjoying his job and went shopping on the weekend for some clothes and is enjoying himself, except for the sleeping - you should hear his imitations of the MAC trucks and the D3 bus that goes past our window!
