Day 4: Monday 2nd May – Montepulciano

Photos of Montepulciano square We visited a wine cellar that has been around for ages - there is actually wine in the vat!
The town hall but where they shot New Moon - when Bella went to Italy Our Room We drove today straight to Montepulciano from San Gimignano after the sleep in a watching the news. We arrived at lunch time and checked into a really cute hotel. We brought lunch from the shop – salami and cheese and sat out on the balcony of the hotel and enjoyed lunch. We had a walk around the city and did some wine tasting before coming back for a rest before dinner. Montepulciano is another walled city built in the Renaissance style. With all the interesting buildings and stories with them, what I liked the most was that New Moon (Twilight Saga) as filmed here. Check out the town hall – this is town square that was used for the scenes of the San Marco festival and the corridor was where Bella and Edward finally meet up again! Anyway so exciting – you could do a tour for 30 euro but you had to book in advance - never mind – Josh did the research and we go to see everything we could. Also around this area, although outside of the city The Gladiator and the English Patient was filmed – quite a popular areas this – because it’s so beautiful and old I imagine!
