Speakers Corner in Hyde Park
We went to Hyde Park today. Speakers corner is where people take a podium and stand up and speak out political or religious views. There were a few going when we where there, it was very interesting, people just yell out their views to anybody who is listening. Inside the park are a couple of lakes that are very pretty. You can hire a row boat or pedal car for the lack - we'll save that for another day when Josh can receit poetry!!! We also saw the Princess Diana memorial fountain. It was a beautiful day, nice and sunny, a great day for the park. As we walked through the park was saw numerous other memorials (see the pictures) and walked around Kensington Palace and gardens. Whilst we were there we saw the NZ memorial for the soilders who died in the war, it was apparently designed in Wellington. After Hyde Park and Kensington we went to Tower Hill, the Tower of London and London Bridge. We just looked around the Tower and walked accross the bridge. It was too late for us to go in, so we will have to wait for another day to do the tour. It has been good this weekend looking around London at the sights, the old buildings are beautiful!
