Bangkok Thursday 8th March

Today we went to the Grand Palace - it was amazing. We managed the art of bartering with the taxi driver - or should i say josh did. Who is very successfully now managing to get us all the bargins our heart desires! The roads are total chaos - the cars go everywhere, nobody has heard of an indicator and there are men with masks all over the road blowing whistles at cars - attempting to direct them The place was amazing, all sorts fo different halls and temples all with amazing designs, done by hand and paid for by the different kings - each who wanted to leave a bigger impression than the last. After the palace we visited a gian "reclining Buddha" - all in gold. We went to the mall for luch and decided to try the local food and ordered sweet and sour fish, expecting chunks of fillet we got a whole fish sliced in half and fried in sauce! as much as we tried to eat it, it was all too much and we ended up at KFC! Even that was a drama, trying to order a number 2 combo, we ended up with 2 combos and an ice tea! eventually we managed to communicate!!! We went for a swim, had a sunbath and met a NZ couple also on their way to UK to live and danced the night away to Gwen Steffani and the Black Eyed Peas.
