We drove past the Dubai creek and dockyards. People used to be able to walk across the creek at low tide but the government have dredged it out so it is used as a docking yard as well as transporting people up and down the river. All the boxes you can see on the boats (called dhows = traditional style of boat) are all shop equipment - tv's, sterios, ipod, fridge, washing machine etc. There is no security just these boxes that are being loaded and unloaded.
