Phuket Saturday 10th March

Today we went on half day tour of Phuket island, it was really beautiful, lots of water and hills, kind of looked like NZ. They have lots of rubber plantations here and train monkey's (send them to school) to run up the trees in the evening time to get the rubber (seeds i think) down. Lots of Cobras in the plantations too so they pay people from snake farms to come and get them, apparantly this is the preferred option, as opposed to selling them to various asain cultures who want to kill them and drink there blood - believing they give the same effect as viagra!!! On this tour we went to a rifle range it was amazing - Josh shot a pistol! A 45 calibra! (however you spell that) with no instructions just some safety googles and ear muffs! No barracade between him and the next person - absolutly amazing. Josh had to sign a waver - only he didn't even sign it, it was ok for me to just write his name in the box!!! We paid for a photo so will post it later! josh is a mean shot to, had 85% accuracy at a 15 yard range! The bullets shells actually flew back behind you! Safety definatly not a preminum there! in the evening we went to this fantasea show. We didn't take the camera because we didn't think you could take photos - which is true but there is a carnival park that you can go through before the show and take picutres there, but we have none, so i will do my best to describe it! The theme park was cool, all kinds of carnival games, Josh one me a toy dog by popping baloons with arrows. The park was all done traditional Thai style. We went for a buffet dinner there first. The food was great - valentines does not even compare. I ate duck and beef and chicken - i would like to point out i am now officially not even a chicken eating vegeatarian. i don't like the beef it's all chewey! Anyway the room for the buffet must have seated about a thousand, maybe more, I have never seen anything like it in my life, all red carpet and gold colured walls and all designs on all the walls and the roof. Then we went to the show, it had 15 elephants and magicians and acrobatics, flipping through the air! Thai dancing and amazing pirotechnics. We paid for a photo so i will post that with josh's gun shooting ones later! We got home by 11pm and were truely exhausted, but it was worth every over priced dollar we paid for it! By Thai prices, it only cost $75 NZD per person, for a show, dinner and taxi there and back!
